Bio
Corey Goering (b. 1973 Kingman, KS.) grew up watching television and drawing pictures. He studied Printmaking at the Kansas City Art Institute. He has shown in New York, San Francisco, Austin, and Minneapolis. He dropped out of art school and hasn't won any awards.
Goering's work is a collection of obsessive mark making used to create primal compositions where ugly things mingle with beauty. Images of religion, sexuality, and violence play together in a manic world, ultra in both color and saccharine sweetness.
When he's not applying ink and gouache to paper, he dabbles in family life, production supervising, whiskey and marathon running. He lives in a little hippie cottage in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife and a girl and a boy and a dog and a cat.
