The word color itself is very potent – especially today. The fact of color is profoundly complex, even elusive. Color can comfort or confront, it can influence or disguise. Our awareness of color is optical, but our experience of color is cultural. Even when explained it remains a wonder. Color exceeds language; these paintings are an effort to articulate this notion.
