945 Madison Avenue turns Bill Jacobson’s attention to the Marcel Breuer building that originally housed the Whitney Museum of American Art. His photographs consider the architecture through surfaces, spatial relationships, and the changing presence of light, giving a familiar museum address a quieter visual identity. A text by David Deitcher accompanies the images. The book brings Jacobson’s sensitivity to constructed space into a concentrated study of one building, inviting attention to the details through which architecture becomes a place of experience.
