Danni  Parelman’s work is influenced by a lifelong fascination with the esoteric. She explores imagery that stems from an evaluation of one’s own idiosyncrasies. The repetitive mark­making and heavy layering are  suited to the investigation of individuals’ rituals and habits, and the subsequent formation of outlying groups and subcultures. The fastidious process reveals the artist’s conscious immersion into the isolated and even paranoid state that is sometimes self­imposed, sometimes part of a greater social context. Parelman is a Kansas City, Missouri native who graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2010 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking, with a focus in stone lithography. She currently lives and works in Kansas City, Missouri.
