In Relative Moments, Deanna Dikeman finds lasting meaning in the everyday life of her Midwestern family. Gardening, sewing, mowing the lawn, and gathering around a cake become part of a tender, attentive record spanning decades. Through 200 photographs, the book expands the family story glimpsed in Leaving and Waving, allowing gestures and routines to accumulate into a portrait of intimacy and belonging. Dikeman’s photographs celebrate the quiet richness of ordinary experience while tracing the passage of time through the people and places closest to her.
