Haw Contemporary is pleased to host READY FIRE AIM, Archie Scott Gobber's 5th solo exhibition with the gallery.  

Archie Scott Gobber is a painter and sculptor based in Kansas City, Missouri, and a native of the state. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions locally, nationally, and internationally, and is included in a range of museum, public, and private collections.

Most recently, his painting Piece was acquired by the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where he also served as Artist in Residence in 2017. Gobber is the recipient of several notable honors, including the American Institute of Architects Allied Arts and Craftsmanship Honor Award (2011) for his public sculpture Dream, commissioned by Missouri Bank and Trust Company. He was one of the first artists to receive a Charlotte Street Award in 1998 and was selected for the Review Studio program in 2005.

In addition to his studio practice, Gobber is committed to mentoring emerging artists. He has taught at the Kansas City Art Institute, served as a mentor for the Charlotte Street Studio Residency program, and acted as an advisor to the Review Studio program. He earned his BFA in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1988.
