5/30/2025 – 7/23/2025

Haw Contemporary is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Mike Erickson, Reflections, boons, muses, joys and playpretties, the artist’s second with the gallery.

It’s a bit like this.

Lately, for the most part, there have been three Mikes. A Painting Mike, a Fishing Mike, and a Dreaming Mike.

The Fishing Mike is trying to be more of the Painting Mike and Dreaming Mike while Fishing.

The Dreaming Mike is trying to be more of the Fishing Mike and Painting Mike while Dreaming.

Beautiful Day.

  • Three small paintings hang on a white gallery wall spaced evenly across the composition. The left work depicts a stylized horse and dark figure against a yellow and blue background. The center painting shows a bearded man's face surrounded by ornamental foliage in muted greens and golds. The right work features an intertwined purple serpentine form against a desert landscape. Each painting uses vibrant acrylic colors and demonstrates a figurative, somewhat surreal aesthetic.
  • A framed textile artwork featuring a dark center panel bordered by decorative scalloped edges in green, pink, and gray. A stylized red and white serpentine or wave-like form floats against the dark background, creating a striking focal point within the ornamental frame.
  • Three paintings displayed horizontally on a white gallery wall at eye level. Left canvas features black silhouettes of bare branches against a light background. Center canvas depicts a wooden wagon wheel silhouetted against a radiating pink and yellow sunburst. Right canvas shows blue-toned abstract forms with curved shapes and a red accent. Each work is mounted individually with subtle shadows cast on the wall below.
