Starting with recognizable objects DeBoer recreates them with rigorous detail in porcelain as well as realistic and imagined surfaces often depicting exact branding or imagery of Americana. The source of his inspiration for this exhibition comes from DeBoer's upbringing in South Dakota and everyday objects in the backdrop of his daily events.

Reinvigorating these everyday accouterments in this highly ornate material DeBoer challenges the perception of the objects and their value in our daily lives as functional as well as decorative sculptures. These objects' pre-existing commercial meanings are eloquently set aside while DeBoer folds his lively personal narrative into these heirlooms through his meticulousness in craft and knowledge of material.
